Innovating to inspire a new generation of farmers.

Getting Started

We love to collaborate with other creative groups and organizations. Recently, a midwest agency approached Studio Iowa with a need to create an agricultural experience for 30-something farmers and FFA teens.

Our solution offered a virtual reality experience that allowed these ag professionals and students to interact with products and machinery within two different locations around a digital farm before diving down into the ground to see how the client’s products impacted corn and soybean seeds during different growing stages.

The Result

We were invited to attend the client’s annual meeting to assist with the technology side of the VR experience and we learned a few things as well about how people react to interactive experiences like this.

The younger participants were excited and eager to step up and try it out while older participants were less willing to try on the headset. Well, at least at first. We found that, regardless of the participants initial interest and willingness to try the interactive experience, every participant quickly acclimated to the experience and most quickly grasped how to interact in the digital world using the headset and hand controllers.

We also were surprised at how each person chose to interact once they were given total control and choice over the experience. We had a few participants who were missing fingers, hands, and in one case, a leg to stand on, so we learned a lot about putting ourselves in a variety of unfamiliar situations and abilities that could limit or exclude certain types of interactions. As our company continues to design more and more virtual reality solutions for our customers, it’s important for us to not only focus on building incredible interactions, but also to add inclusive accessibility features.
